Measurement of natural radioactivity and cosmic rays using the Cosmic Watch detector,
supervisor: prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Doroba (krzysztof.doroba@fuw.edu.pl)
Cosmic Watch is a pocket-sized cosmic ray detector, developed on the basis of measurement technologies of large research projects in the field of particle physics (in this case, the IceCube neutrino detector). As part of the exercise, the student will get acquainted with simple measuring equipment and methods of detecting natural radioactivity and cosmic prominence. The implementation of the exercise requires knowledge of the basic tools of data analysis (eg. ROOT, pyROOT, gnuplot).
